Sound Healing Treatments

Imagine settling onto a comfortable futon, with a soft blanket and pillow, in a tranquil space. As the 1-hour sound bath begins, you'll be invited to close your eyes and simply relax, without any expectation other than to receive the sounds.
The practitioner will gently introduce various instruments, such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes, and sometimes even tuning forks or other resonant tools. Each instrument has its unique tonal quality and vibration.
As the session unfolds, you'll be immersed in a rich tapestry of sounds. The crystal bowls often produce pure, sustained tones that seem to wash over and through you. Gongs can offer deep, resonant vibrations that build and evolve, creating a powerful and sometimes otherworldly experience. The Himalayan bowls often have complex overtones and a grounding quality. Chimes add delicate, ethereal textures.
The focus isn't on melody or rhythm in the traditional sense, but rather on the sonic vibrations and frequencies.
These sounds are thought to interact with your body and mind on a subtle level. Many people describe a feeling of being "bathed" in sound, hence the name "sound bath."
Throughout the hour, the soundscape will likely ebb and flow. There may be periods of gentle, soothing sounds and moments where the vibrations become more intense and resonant. The practitioner will skillfully play the instruments, creating a soundscape that encourages a shift in your brainwave state, moving from the active beta state to the more relaxed alpha, theta, or even delta states associated with deep relaxation, meditation, and rest.
You might experience a range of sensations during the session. Some people feel a deep sense of calm and peace, as if stress and tension are melting away. Others may feel subtle vibrations in their body or have visualisations and insights. Emotions might surface as the sound helps to release held energy. It's also perfectly normal to drift in and out of sleep.
The beauty of a sound bath is that there's nothing you need to do. You simply lie back and allow the sounds to wash over you. It's a passive experience that can be profoundly relaxing and rejuvenating for the mind, body, and spirit. As the session draws to a close, the sounds will gently fade, allowing you to slowly return to a state of full awareness, often feeling refreshed, grounded, and deeply rested.
